Jagdai Kolin (जगदेई कोलिण) Was A Woman From Koli Community Of Pauri Gadwal In Uttarakhand. She Saved The Life Of Peoples From Gorkha Army Sent By Rana Bahadur Shah Ruler Of Nepal Kingdom In 1804 To Annexe The Garhwal And Kumaon In Nepal. Real Name Of Jagdai Kolin Is Unknown Yet Now Nobody Know. This Name Is Given By Peoples For Her Brave Act Of Saving Lifes. Peoples Called Her As Jagdai Means जगत की देवी.

History

She Was Born In Sandna Village In Koli Family And Married In A Koli Family In A Village Of Salt Block. After Two Years Of Marriage She Gave Birth To A Girl Baby But Same Year Her Husband Was No More Because Of Disease. Her In-Law Family Was Suggesting To Live With Her Brother-In-Law But She Refused. She Went To Her Parent's Home With Her Baby Girl Because Sandna Village Was More Safe From Gorkhas. There Her Mother Exhorted Her To Live With Brother In Law (देवर) By This Way You Will Provide A Father To Your Daughter And You Will Have A Happy Life. Jagdai Kolin Agreed With Her Mother And Next Day Went To Her In-law. But When She Reached, She Was Shocked There Was A Minor Number Of Peoples Most Of The People's Has Gone To Bhirnabhaun's Temple Because Temple Was On The Top Of Hill. From There They Can See Gorkha Army. 

When She Started To Go To Temple See Saw Lots Of Smoke In The Air By The Attacks Of Gorkha Amry. Jagdai Kolin Screamed Loud With Whole Power That Gorkhas Coming (ग्वर्ख्य आगीं - ग्वर्ख्य आगीं गढ़वाली भाषा में) . With The Warning By Jagdai Kolin, There Was Seism In Villages Because She Many Villages Can Hear Her Sounds Because Of Hilly Area. She Was Screaming Continuously That Gorkhas Coming. The Gorkha Soldiers Reached At Jagdai Kolin's Place But Yet Now Kolin Didn't Stoped The Screaming That Gorkhas Have Came. One Soldier Of Gorkhai Army Beat The Jagdai Kolin And Threw On The Stone. Jagdai Kolin Fight With Gorkhai Soldier after That Two Gorkha Soldiers Caught Jagdai Kolin And Cut Off The Nose , Ears And Boobs Of Jagdai But She Still Not Stopped The Crying That Gorkha Army Have Reached As She Can. After That Gorkha Soldiers Put Her In A Hut And Burnt The Jagdai Kolin With Hut. Almost All Of The Peoples Got Away From Villages. Gorkha Army Didn't Got Anything There And Went Away.  The Peoples Who Was Hiding In Spinney Came Out And Collected The Bones Of Kolin. They Remembered Her As जगदेई की कोलिण Because She Saved Their Life. Peoples Made A Sculpture Of Jagdai Kolin.
